A popular social media commentator, Aisha Yesufu, has demanded the prosecution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Labour Party (LP) if they were found guilty of electoral fraud in the last general elections. Yesufu, known for her involvement in the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign, strongly believes that justifying electoral malpractices based on political party affiliation is foolish.
Following the February 25, 2023, presidential election, there have been accusations and counter accusations among members of the three major political parties: the ruling APC, PDP, and LP. Each party claims that the others engaged in rigging to a greater extent. However, Aisha Yesufu finds it particularly foolish when people defend their own party’s rigging by pointing out the rigging done by other parties.
Aisha Yesufu firmly believes that if all three parties engaged in rigging, then all three parties should face prosecution. She emphasizes that there should be no exceptions or excuses. Wrongdoings cannot be justified simply because everyone is involved in them. It is important to hold all responsible parties accountable for their actions.
