Hey there, middle schoolers! Today, we’re going to talk about some recent news from Ondo State. Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has made a move against his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa. He has decided to fire his media aides, which has caused some tension between the governor and his deputy.
In a statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, the media aides were instructed to return all government belongings to the acting Permanent Secretary in the Deputy Governor’s office. The affected aides are Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, the Press Secretary to the Governor; Oladipupo Okunniga, the Special Assistant to the Governor for New Media; and Abayomi Adefolalu, the Special Assistant to the Governor for Photography.
The statement also mentioned that the press crew working for the deputy governor has been disbanded. They are now expected to go back to their respective ministries and stations. The Ministry of Information and Orientation has been directed to provide coverage for the deputy governor’s office from now on.
So, why did the governor decide to dismiss the media aides? Well, according to sources, there have been news reports that were supposedly planned against the governor. These reports were believed to be coming from the deputy governor’s media team.
One anonymous source even claimed that the media team had caused controversy between the governor and his deputy while Akeredolu was on medical leave in Germany.
