The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State and Mr Ekerete Udoh, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Umo Eno, have dismissed reports that the governor praised Atiku Abubakar for exposing President Bola Tinubu’s alleged fake certificate from Chicago State University.
There were speculations on social media that Governor Eno, during the PDP stakeholders meeting in the state, celebrated Atiku’s efforts in revealing Tinubu’s alleged fake certificate. However, the PDP, through its Publicity Secretary, Borono Bassey, stated that this rumor is an attempt to involve Eno and the party in a legal matter.
The PDP emphasized that the case is currently in court, and neither the governor nor the state-level PDP has the authority to comment on it. They reiterated that they will await the court’s judgment and respect its decision.
Mr Ekerete Udoh, the Chief Press Secretary, also defended Governor Eno, stating that he remains unbiased. Udoh argued that the report aims to tarnish the good relationship between President Tinubu and Governor Eno. He challenged the writers to provide video evidence of the governor making such remarks.
Udoh further clarified that during the PDP Stakeholders’ meeting, no such issue was discussed or brought up. He urged the writer to provide recorded evidence to support their claims. Udoh emphasized that Governor Eno, as a pastor and a bridge-builder, respects authority and would not engage in partisan talks.
