
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, recently inaugurated the party’s campaign council for the upcoming governorship election in Imo. During the event, Ganduje emphasized the importance of Governor Hope Uzodinma’s reelection for the future development of the state.
Ganduje highlighted that President Bola Tinubu’s selection of Senator Bassey Otu, the Governor of Cross River, to lead the campaign council demonstrates the President’s seriousness about the election. He encouraged the people of Imo to take advantage of Uzodinma’s widespread support and wisdom to secure the state’s future development.
Governor Uzodinma expressed his gratitude to Tinubu for approving the campaign council and thanked the national leadership of the APC for their support, particularly the appointments they provided for Imo. He described the APC in Imo as a movement rather than just a political party and urged the people to rally behind the party in the upcoming election.
Uzodinma confidently stated that the APC is the party to beat in Imo for the November election. He emphasized that the party has undergone a reconciliation process, welcoming back leaders and members who had grievances. He also noted that many opposition party structures and leaders have joined the APC in Imo.
Senator Bassey Otu, the leader of the campaign council, reiterated their commitment to Governor Uzodinma’s reelection by saying “Yes! Yes! Yes!” He expressed gratitude to the people of Imo for their massive support in the previous general elections, where they voted overwhelmingly for the APC.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Governors Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Mai Mala-Buni of Yobe, and Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina. Additionally, ministers and members of the APC National Working Committee were also present.
