Former SGF Babachir Lawal Criticizes APC for Allegedly Becoming an Islamic Party
Hey there, middle schoolers! Today, we’re going to talk about some political drama. Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, is not happy with President Bola Tinubu and the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He thinks they have changed the ruling party from being a national party to an Islamic party. Yikes!
Babachir Lawal believes that the APC has been insensitive and has taken Nigerians for granted by changing the party’s name to suit their own agenda. He wants them to be brave enough to change the party’s name officially to the Islamic Party of Nigeria.
Why is he saying all this? Well, it all started when Babachir Lawal claimed that Peter Obi, not Tinubu, won the 2023 presidential election. The APC didn’t like that and criticized him for it. But Babachir Lawal is standing by his statement and wants the party to address the issues he raised instead of attacking him.
In a statement he released, Babachir Lawal talked about a person named Felix who criticized him on social media. He compared this Felix to a historical figure named Felix who was known for being cruel to please his master. Babachir Lawal thinks that this Felix is just trying to please his masters in the APC.
When the APC was founded in 2013/2014, Babachir Lawal thought it would be a party that represented all the different beliefs and groups in Nigeria. But now, he feels like it has become an Islamic party and that’s not what he signed up for.
So, there you have it! Babachir Lawal is not happy with the APC and thinks they have changed the party into something he didn’t expect. Let’s see how this political drama unfolds!
