He recently said that supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, who are running for president in Nigeria, are making a big fuss about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records. They think he might have forged his certificate!
Onanuga made this statement on X (formerly Twitter) in response to someone who posted some documents about Tinubu’s academic records. It’s causing quite a stir!
Well, some people are saying that Tinubu had a chance to prove that he didn’t forge his certificate, but he ignored the international media. They want the Supreme Court to disqualify him from running for president because of this.
But Onanuga thinks that supporters of the opposition parties are just wasting their time. He says that he actually went to Tinubu’s university, Chicago State University, and got a letter from the school’s registrar confirming that Tinubu graduated in 1979. He’s been saying this since 1999!
Onanuga wants the supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku to stop bothering Tinubu and let him focus on governing the country. He thinks they’re just causing unnecessary drama.
Onanuga said, “Can you and your band please allow President Tinubu to breathe, to enable him to face the serious business of governance?” He wants everyone to give Tinubu a break and let him do his job.
