National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, Olusegun Bamgbose, has argued that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo could be under pressure to step down as Nigeria’s number two citizen.
According to Bamgbose, Osinbajo is no longer allowed to speak to the media, without the stamping of the cabals, which is why he been silent on Fulani herdsmen mayhem across the country, especially in the South West.
He said the cabals was not happy with Osinbajo’s plan to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 and that this had led to their decision not to need him and isolate him equally.
Bamgbose stated that; “The silence of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on certain national issues may come as a shock to many Nigerians.”
“One would have thought that he would have given his opinion on the havoc by the herdsmen, given the crisis in the South West, but he has decided to remain silent.
“Nigerians would love to hear from him. He recently appeared in the public when he renewed his APC membership despite the corruption in the party. The law professor appears to have been caged in the Presidency.
“As I have said before, he is keen to take over from Buhari in 2023, the coaches are not happy with his desire to be President and have decided to make him less important and more equitable. He is not allowed to speak to the media again, without authorization from the powers that be. This is very unfortunate.
“The second Nigerian citizen is no longer free to deal with the most important problems in the country. Tinubu, on the other hand, will not support President Osinbajo’s bid to come in 2023.
“The forces in control are in stark contrast to Osinbajo’s desire to take over from Buhari. Few APC officials urged him to continue working, as he was under great pressure to resign from his post as VP.
“They have tried every means to discredit him but Osinbajo has not been beaten. He has refused to allow pressure to resign as Vice President.
“Tinubu is working around the clock to get the only candidate in the Yoruba election. He succeeded in defeating Tunde Bakare, who has promised to run for president.
“Femi Fani Kayode, who is rumored to be defecting to the APC, may not be linked to Tinubu’s move to soften anyone who stands in his way, especially from the front of his home, in the South West. The race has really begun. It doesn’t matter what the game is, I have high hopes that I will be the next President of Nigeria, ”he added.
