Big news coming out of Rivers State! The lawmakers in the state’s House of Assembly have started the process of impeaching Governor Siminialayi Fubara.
In order to make this happen, the lawmakers have officially served an impeachment notice on Governor Fubara. They have also removed the House Leader, Edison Ehie, who is believed to be on the Governor’s side.
Out of the 32 members of the Rivers Assembly, a whopping 24 have signed the document calling for Fubara’s impeachment. This shows that a majority of the lawmakers are in favor of this action.
All of these decisions were made during an emergency meeting held by the lawmakers on Monday morning. The meeting was quite unusual as it took place between 7am and 9am.
