The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Birnin Kebbi made an important decision on Thursday. They said that Governor Nasir Idris is the rightful governor of Kebbi State.
Let’s go back a bit. In the March 18 gubernatorial election, Governor Idris, who is from the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). But General Aminu Bande (retd) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) didn’t agree with the result. He filed a 722-page petition challenging Governor Idris’ victory.
