Hey there, middle schoolers! We have some news from a court in Enugu State. They have made a decision about the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
So, here’s the deal. Senator Anyanwu is actually the PDP’s candidate for the upcoming election in Imo State. But someone named Nwabueze Ugwu went to court and asked them to declare Anyanwu’s seat vacant. And guess what? The court agreed!
The court told the PDP that they have to find a new National Secretary. They want the PDP to recognize Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the replacement for Anyanwu. This is just temporary until they make a final decision.
The judge, Justice C.O Ajah, said that this decision was made based on certain rules. These rules are called the High Court rules of Enugu State 2020. The court looked at a motion on notice and affidavits that were filed by Nwabueze Ugwu.
