The former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Olisa Agbakoba, is disappointed to see lawyers on national television discussing President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University issue. He believes that this public debate is unnecessary and harmful.
Agbakoba is unhappy with the conflicting opinions surrounding Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s controversy over the CSU records. He warns that these armchair lawyers are causing dangerous tensions in Nigeria.
In a social media post, Agbakoba urges everyone to keep their opinions to themselves until the Supreme Court makes a decision. He believes that the constant arguments on television and in newspapers are unhelpful and should not be tolerated.
Agbakoba calls on the President of the Nigerian Bar Association to address lawyers who breach ethical rules by turning the media into a court of law. He wants to put an end to this public spectacle and allow the Supreme Court to make a binding decision.
Let’s stop heating up our country and respect the judicial process!
