Today is a big day for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State. He will find out his fate in the allegations of certificate forgery made against him by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The verdict will be delivered at the Federal High Court in Abuja by Justice Inyang Ekwo.
Governor Mbah took the NYSC to court before his inauguration on May 29. He sued the NYSC and its Director, Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad. The governor challenged the allegations made against him and sought justice.
A notice of judgment delivery has been seen by a DAILY POST correspondent. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1611/2023, will have its verdict announced in a few hours. The courtroom is filled with supporters, political followers, and friends of the governor who are eager to witness the proceedings.
The governor’s case revolves around the NYSC’s publication of a disclaimer. The NYSC denied issuing a discharge certificate to Governor Mbah on January 6, 2003. To address this issue, Justice Ekwo had previously ordered the NYSC, Muhammad, and their agents to refrain from making such publications until the matter is resolved.
