Hey guys, did you hear about what happened in Ondo State? Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is really mad about an attack on his Commissioner for Women Affairs, Olubunmi Osadahun. The person who attacked her is the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 1, Akoko South West Local Council Area, Olumide Awolumate. Akeredolu said this attack is really disrespectful to the government and he won’t stand for any violence.
So, here’s what went down. There’s a video that went viral showing the chairman, who people call ‘Cuba’, and the commissioner fighting over the distribution of palliatives. Palliatives are things like food and supplies that are given to people in need. In the video, the chairman hits the commissioner with a chair, which caused her to get hurt and have a swollen face. It’s not cool to hurt someone like that!
Governor Akeredolu wants to make sure that the person who attacked the commissioner faces the consequences. He said he will use the law to make sure the attacker is brought to justice. There’s a law called the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) law that says violence against anyone is not allowed. It protects victims and punishes the people who hurt others. Akeredolu wants everyone to know that there are better ways to solve problems and express concerns.
The government is doing its best to help the most vulnerable people in the community by giving them palliatives. They ask for our support and understanding during this time. Let’s all work together to make things better for everyone.
