Hey there, middle schoolers! Guess what? Hundreds of members from the Kwankwasiyya movement recently gathered in Kano to hold special prayers. Can you guess what they were praying for? Well, they were praying for the success of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. Cool, right?
So, here’s the deal. The opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is challenging Governor Yusuf’s victory in the governorship election that took place on March 18 in Kano State. They’re saying that he shouldn’t be the governor. But guess what? The Kwankwasiyya members are not happy about that, so they decided to pray for divine intervention. They want their governor to stay in power!
Now, let’s talk about these special prayers. They were held at different places in Kano, like Zaria, Maiduguri, Hadejia, and Gwarzo roads. These are important roads that lead to the Ancient City. Both boys and girls who support the NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, took part in the prayers. They really want their governor to win this dispute!
During one of the prayer sessions, the State Chairperson of the NNPP Women Group, Hajia Zuwaira Abubakar, spoke up. She said that they are praying against people who are trying to remove Governor Yusuf from power. They know that some people are trying to take away their victory, but they won’t let that happen. They believe that the governor’s victory in the election was a ‘popular mandate’, which means that a lot of people wanted him to win.
So, there you have it! The Kwankwasiyya members are standing strong and praying for their governor’s success. They believe that he should continue to be the governor of Kano State. Let’s see what happens when the tribunal delivers its judgement. Will their prayers be answered? We’ll have to wait and find out!
