The people of Ondo State can relax because the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured them that he is not resigning. There has been a rumor going around that he was planning to step down, but Aiyedatiwa wants everyone to know that it’s not true.
Some powerful politicians who support the governor have been pressuring Aiyedatiwa to quit his position. They even threatened to impeach him if he didn’t leave voluntarily. This all started after Aiyedatiwa took charge as the acting governor for four months while Governor Akeredolu was in a hospital in Germany.
Aiyedatiwa wants to make it crystal clear that he has no intention of resigning. In a statement he released, he said, “I, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, have not, do not intend, and will not sign or author any letter resigning my position.”
He wants the people of Ondo State, the State Assembly, and the general public to know that any rumors about his resignation are false. He is here to stay!
