So, there’s this Deputy Governor in Ondo State named Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He’s been having some trouble because the people in charge want to impeach him. He went to court to try and stop them from doing that.
But here’s the thing: the court said that Mr. Aiyedatiwa’s case was not right. They said he was just trying to cause trouble and waste their time. They even mentioned that he had already filed a similar case in another court. So, the court dismissed his case.
When it was time for the court to make a decision, Mr. Aiyedatiwa’s lawyer didn’t show up. The other side’s lawyers were there, but not his. The court was not happy about this. They said it was not fair for Mr. Aiyedatiwa’s lawyer to be absent without a good reason.
Because of this, the court decided to punish Mr. Aiyedatiwa. They told him to pay some money to the people who wanted to impeach him. He had to pay N50,000 each to the Speaker of the Assembly, the House of Assembly, the Clerk to the House, and the Chief Judge. That’s a total of N200,000!
