The Kogi State Chairman of Action Democratic Congress, (ADC), John Adaji wants to clear the air. He wants everyone to know that the media reports claiming he defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) are completely false.
During a campaign rally in Okehi and Adavi Local Government, Adaji spoke to his supporters and assured them that the report was fake. He urged the public to ignore it and emphasized that the ADC did not collapse its structure for another political party.
Adoji confidently declared, “I am the authentic Chairman of the ADC in Kogi State. There can’t be two captains in one ship, and here I am with you and with our governorship candidate, Elder Leke Abejide. I also want to assure you that the ADC structure is intact.” He made it clear that the person claiming to be Chairman and saying he defected to the APC had actually been expelled from the ADC a long time ago.
Adoji revealed that the rumors were spread by an expelled member of the party. This person had been suspended by the ADC executives at his ward for anti-party activities and embezzlement of funds. The suspension was ratified at the local government and state levels, and he was eventually expelled from the party in October of last year.
Adagu Suberu, a former Chairman of Okehi local government and the Director General of Leke Abejide/Idris Omede Governorship campaign council of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), explained that the ADC leadership in Kogi State is made up of former stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stated that the people had revolted against the ruling party due to its anti-people policies, such as the payment of percentage salaries to local government workers and primary school teachers.
