These victims had been abducted a few days ago by gunmen and were held captive in the forest pending ransom payments from their families.
The rescue operation was initiated following the directive of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who hails from the same local government area. The joint security taskforce engaged with the bandits, resulting in the safe release of all 33 kidnapped victims.
The Caretaker Chairman of Alkaleri LGA, Bala Mahmoud, received the rescued victims from the security operatives in Yalwan Duguri, the Governor’s hometown. He commended the security agencies for their swift response, which led to the successful release of the captives.
Furthermore, Mahmoud assured that all 33 individuals who had been held captive would undergo medical checkups to ensure their well-being before any further actions are taken.
