Hey there, middle schoolers! So, there’s this guy named Isa Ashiru who ran for governor in Kaduna State. He’s from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He says that he actually won the election that happened on March 18th, 2023. But here’s the thing, the election was declared inconclusive, which means it wasn’t finished properly.
Ashiru wants the people of Kaduna State to keep praying so that they can get their rightful leader. He held a press conference at his house and talked about how there are some things that need to be challenged in a higher court.
He said, “The people of Kaduna State have been praying to get our mandate back, and it looks like our prayers are working. The tribunal said that the election wasn’t finished, so it was wrong to declare Uba San as the winner.”
Ashiru also mentioned that he and his legal team have some documents to support their claims. They want to go to the court of appeal to address these issues.
Ashiru was not happy with Governor Uba Sani’s response to the tribunal’s judgment. He said it was unexpected for someone in a leadership position to make misleading statements. Ashiru believes that with the tribunal’s verdict, he has actually won the race.
He thanked the people of Kaduna State for their patience and support in trying to get their mandate back. Ashiru promised to work with his party and other important people in the state to make sure they get justice and their stolen mandate is recovered.
