A retired military officer named Yahaya Ododo has expressed his disappointment with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, stating that his government has let down the people of the State.
Ododo recently left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Action Alliance (AA) in Ankpa. He believes that there should be a change in leadership in the State.
Ododo, along with his supporters from the Ankpa Forum of Political Unity, made the decision to leave the APC in order to promote fairness, justice, and equality in the governance of Kogi State.
According to Ododo, the current administration came into power by chance, and he believes it is now time for someone from Kogi West to become the next Governor of the State.
Expressing his support for the AA governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, Ododo said, “I have been involved in Kogi State politics for a long time. I have worked for important figures like Chief Bayo Ojo and Chief Olushola Akanmode. Now, we are ready to work for the AA governorship candidate in the upcoming election.”
Samuel Omale, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ojoku Ward, Ankpa Local Government Area, also joined AA with his supporters. He urged the new members to reach out to every corner of the local government and gather support for the party.
In response, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, the AA governorship candidate, assured the new members and his supporters that his mission is to uplift Kogi State and its people out of poverty. He appealed for more support from the Ankpa electorate.
