The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has announced that it will soon deliver its judgment on the petitions filed after the 2023 election. This means that a decision will be made regarding the outcome of the election.
The judgment is scheduled to be delivered on Monday, September 25. So, on that day, we will finally know the verdict!
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the candidate of the Labour Party, shared this news on X. He mentioned that he was informed about the judgment date and wanted everyone to be aware of it.
In his post, Rhodes-Vivour said, “We have just been informed that judgment on our election petition at the tribunal will be delivered on Monday, the 25th of September.”
Rhodes-Vivour and Abdul-Azeez Adediran, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both filed separate petitions at the tribunal. They believe that there was electoral fraud and other issues that should nullify the re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Both Rhodes-Vivour and Adediran want the tribunal to declare them as the winners of the election instead of Sanwo-Olu. They are hoping that their petitions will be successful and that they will be declared the rightful winners.
