Hey there, middle schoolers! Some big news is happening in Ebonyi State. Six local government chairmen from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have decided to leave the party and join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Let’s find out more about what’s going on!
It seems like the recent defeat of the PDP’s governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, in the election petition tribunal might have something to do with it. The governor, Francis Nwifuru, won the case, and this might have made these six chairmen unhappy with the PDP.
The six chairmen who resigned from the PDP are Agbom Friday (Ezza South), Nwofe Philip Don (lzzi), Nwobasi Ude Chizoba (Ohaozara), Chukwu Micheal O (lvo), Ifere Sunday Bright (lkwo), and Ndukwe Orji Oka (Afikpo South).
In a letter they sent to the media, these chairmen mentioned that they are leaving the party for personal reasons. They didn’t go into much detail, but it seems like they have their own individual reasons for making this decision.
The Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State, Augustine Nwazunku, responded to the resignations. He said that some of these chairmen are not active members of the party in the state. He also mentioned that they should have followed the proper process for resigning from the party instead of making public announcements.
That’s all the information we have for now, middle schoolers! It’s interesting to see how politics can sometimes lead to unexpected changes. We’ll have to wait and see what happens next in Ebonyi State!
