Minister Oyetola believes that the Seafarers Centre reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to enhancing the maritime sector and adding greater value to the national economy.
Oyetola believes that the reconstruction of the Seafarers Centre will improve Nigeria’s rating in the global maritime community. The state of the seafarers centre is one of the factors considered when rating ports worldwide.
Minister Oyetola reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to results and encouraged all heads of maritime agencies to be bold and innovative in leading smart initiatives that create opportunities and promote growth.
Minister Oyetola commended the Nigerian Ports Authority for their visionary intervention in transforming the Seafarers Centre from a poor condition at the beginning of the year to a regional best-in-class facility today. He also urged them to ensure proper and sustainable maintenance of the facility.
