The National Publicity Secretary of the Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party (LP), Abayomi Arabambi, has raised concerns about the credentials of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
During an interview on AIT, Arabambi spoke about Obi’s press conference regarding the controversy surrounding Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate. Arabambi claimed that there is a discrepancy in Obi’s academic certificates.
Arabambi revealed that he was part of the team that screened Obi before the party’s presidential primary. He stated that the name on Obi’s certificate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), did not match the name on his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.
According to Arabambi, Obi indicated on the screening form that he attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and completed his youth service. However, when he submitted the final form, he only included his school certificate. This discrepancy raises suspicions.
Arabambi expressed uncertainty about Obi’s true identity, even within the Labour Party. He mentioned that there was secrecy surrounding the matter between Obi and someone named Abure in Asaba. Arabambi believes that the rush to conduct the presidential primary allowed Obi to avoid scrutiny.
Arabambi concluded by stating that Obi’s name on his NYSC certificate and his University of Nigeria, Nsukka certificate are different. This inconsistency raises doubts about the accuracy of Obi’s credentials.
