
The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, recently visited the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in Abuja to seek support for improving the infrastructure of tertiary institutions in the state.
Governor Adeleke expressed his concern about the decline in education in Osun State and emphasized the importance of education in the development of the state. He commended TETFund for its role in enhancing tertiary education and acknowledged that most developments in tertiary institutions could be attributed to TETFund.
The Governor praised TETFund for its significant contributions to education across Nigeria. He acknowledged the presence of TETFund in various institutions and emphasized the need for continued support to further improve education in Osun State.
In response, Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, highlighted the special role of tertiary education in a country’s progress. He emphasized the importance of giving adequate attention to tertiary education, as it fosters innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Echono stated that tertiary education is where new ideas, products, and services are developed, and it is the source of expertise that serves various sectors of the economy.
