Peter Obi, who ran as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court.
He has raised 51 grounds for his appeal.
Peter Obi expressed his dissatisfaction with the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, which dismissed his case. He had approached the Tribunal hoping to be declared the winner of the February 25 Presidential Election.
During the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner. However, both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are challenging INEC’s declaration in court.
Although the tribunal upheld Bola Tinubu’s victory, both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are determined to seek justice at the Supreme Court. Peter Obi has now filed his petition at the highest court in the land.
