Guess what? Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr, is trying really hard to convince his former teammate from Manchester United, David de Gea, to join him in Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo has been using all his charm to persuade De Gea to play in the Saudi Pro League.
But here’s the thing: De Gea is not so excited about the idea. He wants to keep playing in the UEFA Champions League, which is like the ultimate competition for European clubs. So, he’s not easily convinced to leave that behind.
De Gea actually left Manchester United last summer because his contract ended. Since then, he has been searching for a new team, but hasn’t found the right fit yet. He’s patiently waiting for the January transfer window to see if any better options come up.
It seems like De Gea had some chances to join other big clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. These clubs were considering signing him because their main goalkeepers, Thibaut Courtois and Manuel Neuer, were injured. But in the end, both clubs decided not to go for De Gea.
Even though there has been some interest from teams in Saudi Arabia and the Qatar Stars League, De Gea hasn’t been tempted by those offers either. He’s holding out for something better.
