Hey there, middle schoolers! Exciting news! The Senate has just confirmed Mr. Olayemi Cardoso as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, also known as CBN. But that’s not all, there are other important people who were confirmed too!
After a long meeting behind closed doors, the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabío, announced the confirmation of Mr. Olayemi Cardoso as the CBN Governor. Alongside him, Emem Usoro, Muhammad Abdullahi-Dattijo Philip Ikeazor, and Bala Bello were also confirmed as Deputies to Mr. Cardoso.
During the meeting, the Senators had some important questions for the nominees. They were worried about the exchange rate between the Naira (Nigeria’s currency) and other currencies, especially the United States Dollar. They expressed their concerns about the falling value of the Naira and wanted the new CBN team to find innovative solutions to strengthen it.
