The Supreme Court has announced that it will deliver its final verdict on Thursday, October 26th regarding the two remaining petitions challenging the legitimacy of President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the last presidential election.
The petitions were filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Gregory Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP).
Dr. Awemeri Festus Akande, the Supreme Court’s Director of the Press and Information, confirmed this news on Wednesday. He also assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure safety within and outside the court premises.
A 7-man panel of Justices, led by Justice John Inyang Okoro, heard the final arguments from the lawyers representing the parties involved in the petitions on Monday. Afterward, the Justices reserved their judgments.
