The Labour Party wants to set the record straight. They are dismissing the claims made by one of their expelled members, Abayomi Arabambi. Arabambi said that the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has discrepancies in his certificates. But the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, says that Arabambi is just trying to cause trouble.
According to Ifoh, Arabambi is working for people who want to destroy their party and distract Nigerians from questioning President Bola Tinubu’s credentials. Ifoh says that Obi’s parentage, birth, schools attended, and record of public service have never been in dispute. Obi himself has said that his classmates from the University of Nigeria Nsukka can vouch for him. Some of them even hold important positions at the university today. This can be checked and confirmed.Ifoh also mentions that Obi’s certificates are available for anyone to see. They are in the public domain and can be examined by any interested Nigerian. Obi has not tried to hide anything or hire lawyers to block the release of his academic records. In fact, he has released them himself. The Labour Party challenges Arabambi’s principal to do the same and avoid further embarrassment for our nation.
