He pledged his full support to the commission and encouraged its board and management to work together as a team for the benefit of the people.
Shettima acknowledged the challenges faced by the people of the region but expressed optimism that they can be overcome with determination and collaboration.
He also highlighted the need to fight poverty by investing in education, agriculture, and electric vehicles, which are crucial areas for development.
The Chairman of the NEDC board, Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa, explained that the purpose of their visit and presentation of the master plan was to highlight its importance and ensure its implementation.
The commission’s Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Alkali, added that the master plan was developed based on the needs assessment of the region. It includes a 10-year development plan with various schemes, programs, and projects.
Overall, the Vice President and the commission are committed to working together to restore security and promote development in the North East.
