As part of their ongoing campaign against terrorist elements in the North West, Nigerian troops involved in Operation Fansan Yamma have murdered infamous bandit leaders in Katsina and Zamfara States.
In Katsina State, troops killed an unknown number of militants, including renowned kingpin Alhaji Ma’oli, after a successful operation in Mai Sheka village, Kunchin Kalgo town.
Intelligence sources claimed that Ma’oli was in charge of enforcing levies and carrying out illegal activities in Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, Unguwar Dan Halima, Unguwar Dan Mairo, and Katangan Yamma, according to Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism and insurgency specialist in the Lake Chad Basin.
Similar to this, on December 25, personnel from Counter Terrorism Team 7 (CT 7) in Zamfara State, who were patrolling the Bilbis-Danjigba axis under the Tsafe Local Government Area, confronted bandits while on a combat patrol.
