Two teachers, students killed, nine hospitalized as 14-year-old opens fire in US school

No fewer than four persons, including two teachers and two teenage students have been killed in Georgia, part of the southern United States, after a 14-year-old shooter opened fire on the grounds of Apalachee High School in the city of Winder, northeast of Atlanta.

About nine others, including a teacher and eight students were seriously injured in the unfortunate incident that occurred on Wednesday.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation uncovered the identities of the victims at a press briefing on Wednesday night.

The slain teachers include one Christina Irimie, 53 and Richard Aspinwall, 39.

Christian Angulo, 14 and Mason Schermerhorn also 14 are the students killed during the incident.

According to GBI, the 14-year-old suspect, Colt Gray, a student at Apalachee High School was apprehended by officers within minutes and currently in custody.

He will be charged with murder and he will be tried as an adult, the GBI said. Gray was set to be booked on Wednesday night, according to an official.
