The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mr Issac Omodewu, wants President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reward the party members in the state.
Omodewu emphasized that the party members played a crucial role in Tinubu’s success during the 2023 general elections.
During a visit by the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, to the state secretariat, Omodewu expressed his concerns. He said, “We worked hard for the party and achieved great results. We won three senatorial seats and nine House of Representatives seats. However, we have not been compensated for our efforts. We are now appealing to you, Tinubu, to compensate us.”
Omodewu highlighted the party’s primary elections and the challenges they faced during the election campaign. He mentioned that the party had to deal with hostilities from the PDP government in the state. PDP-sponsored thugs attacked party members and destroyed campaign facilities such as billboards, vehicles, and buildings.
Omodewu directly appealed to Tinubu, expressing their hope for fair treatment in the future.
In response, Ganduje urged party members to unite in order to form the next government in the state.
