Hey everyone! We have some exciting news to share with you today. The former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdurasheed Bawa, has been released from detention!
Let’s catch you up on what happened. Bawa was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS) on June 14, 2023, just a few hours after he was suspended from his position as EFCC Chairman by President Bola Tinubu. The suspension was because of some allegations of abuse of office. But guess what? Bawa is now a free man!
He was released on Wednesday night from the national headquarters of the secret police in Abuja. It’s great to see him out and about again!
