Hey there, middle schoolers! So, there’s been some trouble in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the 2023 elections. But don’t worry, the leader of the party in Lagos State, Chief Olabode George, wants all the members to stay strong. He says they are working hard to bring back the party’s lost glory.
Here’s what happened: The PDP had a bit of a disagreement when their presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, chose Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate for the upcoming election. Some people, like former Rivers State governor Mr Nyesom Wike, thought this wasn’t fair because both Atiku and Okowa are from the northern part of Nigeria. They wanted someone from the southern part to balance things out.
But Chief George wants all the party members to know that they shouldn’t lose hope. He said, “I urge all of you who have been faithful to remain strong. We will make sure that the party gets back its lost glory.” That’s a pretty encouraging message!
Chief George also promised that the national leaders of the party will take a close look at what went wrong and fix all the issues. They will do a “thorough post-mortem” to figure out how to make things better. So, there’s hope for the future!
