The Acceptance Speech by Oyekanmi Habeeb Laide, Vice Chairman of Ede North Local Government, Osun State

Our party Chairman, state executives, party leaders, ward leaders, Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and members of the press.

Hey everyone! I’m really excited to be here today and I want to thank all of you for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve as the Vice Chairman of Ede North Local Government. It’s a big responsibility, but I’m ready to take it on!

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to Almighty God for allowing me to be here today. I also want to dedicate this achievement to my late dad, Alhaji (Hon) Jimoh Oyekanmi, who was not only my father but also my mentor and guide.

I feel so honored and grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in me. It means a lot to me and I promise to do my best to serve our community.

It’s really important for us to show gratitude and acknowledge the good things that people do for us. That’s why I want to express my gratitude to our progressive working Executive Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, who has been a great inspiration for good governance.

Now, I want to talk about my commitment to serving our community. I understand that there are challenges ahead, but I’m fully aware of the responsibility that comes with this position.

Together with my Chairman, Alhaji (Hon) Taiwo Amodu, I promise to be a voice for the people. I will listen to your concerns and work hard to address the issues that affect our community. Collaboration and inclusivity are really important to me, and I want to create an environment where everyone’s voice is heard and respected.

I will work closely with the Chairman and our esteemed Governor to make decisions that are in the best interest of the people of Ede North. I will be accessible and approachable, so please feel free to reach out to me with your ideas, suggestions, and concerns. Together, we can make a brighter future for our local government.

I also want to acknowledge the efforts and support of our amazing mother, Yeye Modupeola Adeleke Sanni, as well as our Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, and all our esteemed leaders who have played important roles in making this appointment possible.

In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this opportunity. I promise to serve you with honesty, integrity, and dedication. Let’s work together towards progress, prosperity, and development for Ede North. Thank you all, and let’s make a positive difference!
