Something really sad happened in Niger State. A boat accident took place in the Mokwa Local Government Area, and it’s believed that at least 24 people have died. There are also some people who are missing, but we don’t know how many yet. The accident happened on a Sunday afternoon
The chairman of the council, Jibrim Muregi, has confirmed the accident. He said that right now, they can’t be sure about the exact number of people who were on the boat. Muregi also told us that the passengers who lost their lives were from different communities called Gbajibo, Ekwa, and Yankeiade.
Thankfully, there is a rescue team working hard to save anyone who might still be alive and to recover the bodies of those who didn’t make it. They are doing their best to help in this difficult situation.
