…to meet with US Secretary of State on Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, is going to New York, USA, to attend the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations.
According to a statement from his Media Office, the minister will meet with the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, on Monday, during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The meeting, requested by the US government, will focus on partnership for Atlantic Cooperation. The United States is working to create a forum for coastal Atlantic States to collaborate and advance shared interests in the Atlantic area.
Oyetola stated that his ministry will work towards implementing SDG 14, which focuses on sustainable utilization, management, and preservation of ocean resources for economic development and improved livelihood.
He added that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy will achieve the 5 Ps of sustainable development, with a particular focus on SDG-14.
