Hey there, middle schoolers! Today, we’re going to talk about the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and how he has done something really impressive. He says that his administration has built more houses in just four years than all the governors before him combined. Let’s find out more!
Abiodun proudly shared this news during a meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representative in Nigeria. He mentioned that his government has made huge progress in different areas, especially in delivering housing units. In fact, they have built more houses in their first four years than all the previous governors put together!
But that’s not all! Abiodun’s administration has also achieved a lot in other areas. They have done great work in empowering women by providing small-scale loans and launching a job portal. This has helped in reducing poverty and creating more opportunities for people.
Abiodun also mentioned some big projects that his government has completed or is planning to do. One of them is the construction of the Gateway Agro-Cargo Airport, which has the longest runway in Nigeria. They finished building it in record time! They are also planning to invest over $400 million in an agricultural processing firm, which will create more jobs and boost the economy.
Abiodun believes that working together with the UNDP can bring even more progress to Ogun State. He wants to collaborate in areas like housing, ICT (that’s information and communication technology), energy transition, women empowerment, and job creation. By joining forces, they can achieve even greater things!
