Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has made it clear that only President Bola Tinubu and God have the power to cancel his instructions. He addressed the rumors that the price of cement would rise to N9,000 if the government starts using it for concrete roads. Umahi believes that these rumors are part of a campaign against him by influential people in the construction industry.
During a meeting with contractors from all six geo-political zones at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, Umahi emphasized his commitment to following the president’s instructions. He stated that only the president and God have the authority to cancel his instructions, and he urged the contractors not to waste their time reporting him to anyone else.Umahi reassured the contractors that no matter how much blackmail and lies are spread about him, they will not succeed. He remains steadfast in his dedication to his role as Minister of Works and will continue to carry out his instructions.
