- Vacate guber seat for Ombugado, he won – PDP, Senator Jibrin tells Gov Sule
A big shot in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Walid Jibrin, is worried about what’s happening in Nasarawa State’s politics. He’s calling on Governor Abdullahi Sule to hand over leadership to David Ombugadu right away.
Senator Jibrin, who used to be the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, thinks it’s shocking that Governor Sule is using religion against his opponent. He says that Islam doesn’t support robbery, injustice, or cheating. Even though Governor Sule lost the elections, he’s still trying to blame his defeat on religion.
At a press conference in Abuja, Senator Jibrin spoke on behalf of the PDP. He asked both Muslims and Christians in Nasarawa State to fully support Dr. David Ombugadu as the Governor. Senator Jibrin, who is a devout Muslim and over 70 years old, believes that Governor Sule should step down and let the rightful winner take charge.
Senator Jibrin recalls incidents leading up to the 2023 election campaign. It’s clear that the people of Nasarawa are no longer happy with Governor Sule from the APC party. During the first APC campaign outing in Toto Local Government, women and youths protested against the Governor. They made it clear that they were tired of his lack of performance and empty promises.
