Last season, Nasarawa United, a football team from Nasarawa State, was relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League. The reason behind this unfortunate event was that the team had to play their home matches at a neutral venue. You see, their usual stadium, the Lafia City Stadium, is currently under renovation.
During a visit to the Nigeria Football Federation House in Abuja, Governor Sule shared this information. He also expressed his determination to help Nasarawa United regain their position in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
According to Governor Sule, the stadium’s renovation played a significant role in Nasarawa United’s relegation last season. He emphasized that he is working hard to ensure that this relegation is only temporary. He firmly believes that Nasarawa United deserves to be in the Nigeria Premier Football League, not in the lower Nigeria National League.
