A group of people who used to work for the government in Abia State are asking Governor Alex Otti for help. They were fired from their jobs in 2011 and now they are struggling to find enough food to eat.
The group, called the Association of Disengaged Workers of Abia State (ADWAS), was let go by the government in 2011. The reason they were fired is because they are not from Abia State. Some of them are from Imo, Anambra, and Ebonyi States.
The workers are asking Governor Otti to help them because they are suffering. Many of them have died because they couldn’t afford to buy enough food. They want the government to give them the money they are owed for the work they did.
The previous governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, did not help the workers. He did not give them any money or offer them their jobs back. They tried to talk to him and ask for his help, but he did not listen.
The workers want to know where their money is. They want to know who is keeping it and why they haven’t been paid. They think it’s not fair that they worked hard for the government and now they are struggling to survive.
Hopefully, Governor Otti will listen to their plea and help them get the money they deserve.
