The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has stated that he is prepared to defend himself against accusations of funds diversion made by the impeached Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Mr. Wale Adedayo. Governor Abiodun made this declaration during a meeting with leaders of the APC in Ijebu East Local Government.
During the meeting, Governor Abiodun stressed the importance of instilling party discipline within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He believes that party members should be held accountable for their actions and adhere to the party’s constitution. The governor stated that until people face the consequences of their words and actions, they will continue to lie.
Governor Abiodun expressed his readiness to ensure that Adedayo is held responsible for his false allegations. He stated that Adedayo must prove the claims he made against him. The governor said, “He has to go and prove and show that I, Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, diverted public funds. He has to go and prove that.”
Abiodun revealed that he had known Adedayo for many years and that they were not enemies. He even supported Adedayo before becoming governor and appointed him as a media consultant. However, when it came to the council elections, Abiodun believed that Adedayo was not suitable for the position due to his unstable character.
