A group within the Labour Party, LP, has issued a warning to their 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. They have threatened to suspend him if he does not address the allegations regarding his use of his late brother’s credentials.
The Lamidi Apapa faction of the party has demanded that Obi clarify the discrepancies surrounding his academic records within 48 hours. They want him to address the accusation of impersonating his late brother.
The faction’s spokesperson, Abayomi Arabambi, criticized Tanko Yinusa, the spokesperson for the Peter Obi/Datti Ahmed presidential campaign council. Arabambi disagreed with Yinusa’s dismissal of the allegation as a farce.
Arabambi listed several questions that he believes Obi should answer. These questions include the name of Obi’s supposed elder brother who studied computer science, the year of his brother’s death, the names on his secondary school and University of Nigeria Nsukka certificates, the nature of his brother’s business, the whereabouts of Obi’s birth certificate, and the discrepancies between the names on his various certificates.
Arabambi expressed disappointment in Obi’s response, stating that he had hoped Obi would provide a satisfactory explanation for the inconsistencies in his academic records. Instead, Arabambi accused Obi of using his dead brother’s name and certificate.
