The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, recently expressed his admiration and respect for Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, by referring to him as his father. Despite belonging to different political parties, Shaibu emphasized that their relationship remains strong.
During a recent interview on Channels TV Sunrise Daily, Shaibu acknowledged that he had used inappropriate language against Oshiomhole during the last governorship election in the state. However, he expressed his intention to apologize to Oshiomhole for his choice of words.
Shaibu clarified, “My relationship with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is cordial. When I say cordial, he is still like a father to me. Politically, we may be in different parties.”
Shaibu also expressed his happiness that the current governor, Obaseki, has started inviting Oshiomhole to political functions. He had been hoping for this development and believes it is a positive step forward.
Shaibu intends to personally reach out to Oshiomhole and offer his sincere apology for the use of inappropriate words during the election. However, he remains steadfast in his support for Governor Obaseki, as he believes it is the right thing to do based on guidance he received from God.
