Hey there, middle schoolers! So, there’s been some news about former President Olusegun Obasanjo meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abeokuta. But guess what? Obasanjo says it’s not true! Let’s find out more about what happened.
Okay, so there was this video that went viral on social media. In the video, people were saying that Obasanjo and Tinubu met at a birthday party and made some promises. But Obasanjo says that video is fake, disjointed, and sickening. He’s not happy about it at all!
Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, released a statement to clear things up. According to the statement, the banter conversation between Obasanjo and Tinubu actually happened back in 2022, before the 2023 general elections. It wasn’t at the birthday party like the video suggests.
Obasanjo wants to make it clear that he hasn’t seen Tinubu since he visited him in Abeokuta during his campaign. And on the day of the Alake’s 80th birthday, Obasanjo was at the church, not the reception. So, the video got it all wrong!
During Tinubu’s visit to Obasanjo’s house last year, they had a friendly chat. Obasanjo was playing his favorite traditional game called “ayo” when Tinubu arrived. Tinubu jokingly said he was shocked to see Obasanjo playing the game at that time of the day. And Obasanjo, being playful, responded by saying that if Tinubu had a job for him, he would be ready to do it. It was all in good fun!
Obasanjo wants everyone to know that he’s not looking for work and he’s not working with anyone, especially not with Tinubu. So, if anyone is looking for people to work with Tinubu, they should look somewhere else, not at Obasanjo.
That’s the story, middle schoolers! Former President Obasanjo is denying the claims that he met with President Tinubu. He says the video is fake and that the conversation happened a while ago. It’s important to always check the facts before believing everything you see on social media!
