So, Obasanjo was at an event where a new road and a university campus were being opened. During this event, he told traditional rulers in Oyo State to stand up and show respect for him. Now, this didn’t sit well with everyone.
The Oluwo of Iwo, a traditional ruler in Osun State, didn’t like what Obasanjo did at all. He said that the monarchs who stood up to obey Obasanjo’s order were to blame. According to him, respect should be earned, not demanded. He thought it was disrespectful to the traditional institutions of
