Hey there, middle schoolers! Guess what? The Governorship Election Petition Tribunals have made some really important decisions this week. Let me break it down for you.
First things first, only one governor got kicked out by the tribunal. The rest of them got to keep their victories, at least for now.
Now, let’s talk about the two big political parties involved: the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). They both had some wins in different states.
Last week, the tribunal said that the PDP won in Plateau, Bauchi, Enugu, and Zamfara States. This means that the APC and the Labour Party’s petitions were dismissed. In Plateau, Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s victory was confirmed by the tribunal. The tribunal, led by Justice Sunday, said that the petition filed by the APC and its Governorship candidate, Nentawe Yiltwatda, didn’t have enough evidence to support it.
In Bauchi, the tribunal also confirmed Senator Bala Mohammed as the governor. The three-man panel, headed by P.T Kwahar, dismissed the petition from the APC and its candidate, Sadique Abubakar. They said that Mohammed’s re-election was valid.
Moving on to Enugu, the PDP’s victory was upheld by the tribunal. Governor Peter Mbah gets to keep his position. Good news for him!
So, that’s the latest update on the guber elections and the tribunal decisions. Stay tuned for more news!
